Orange Shards
The classic combination of orange and chocolates never fails. We simply add small pieces of tangy orange to the chocolate, which are bursting with real citrus flavour. Fantastic with the smoothness of the chocolate.
Our chocolate shards are all handmade at our family-run premises in York. To do this we first temper the chocolate. Tempering results in much better quality chocolate and it gives the chocolate a lovely appetising shine, a pleasing snap and a smooth texture, without any graininess. The next step is to pour the tempered chocolate out onto our specially prepared tables. Then, whilst it is still warm, we mix in the ingredients and leave it to set. Once set, the chocolate is broken up into yummy, bite-sized pieces and packaged up.
Ingredients - Milk chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla. Dark chocolate: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla. Added ingredients: fruit (concentrated apple puree, concentrated orange juice), fructose glucose syrup, humectant: glycerol, wheat fibre, sugar, vegetable fat, rice starch, gelling agent: pectin, acidity regulator: citric acid, natural orange flavouring, anti oxidant: asorbic acid, colouring: curcumin E100. Milk chocolate: milk solids 22% min; cocoa solids 33% min. Dark chocolate: cocoa solids 55% min.
